Public issue was formed when guitarist Nipun Nair proposed the idea along with bassy Vinodh “Tibu” Rubin. Scouting for a drummer, and a vocalist, they roped in classmate Vinay Ramakrishnan, and complete whack job Christopher Stanley! Together, they discovered an unreal chemistry, that seemed to identify with their style! With an affinity for “twisting the simple stuff”, “groovifying the time signatures”, and “Funkifying it in its entirety”, , they hit a gold mine with their ridiculously unexplainable genre! Realizing that they had struck chord with each other, they soon saw the light…. they needed to spread the funk!

Seven months later, PUBLIC ISSUE was seen competing on a national stage. That surely gave them a taste of the limelight they were thirsting for. Having won 2nd runner up in the national Campus Rock Idols competition, and south zone winners in DSP Rockilution, Pi had come a long way.

After a few months, a line up change was in order. Out went old bassy, “SLAPstick” tibu, and in came in.. “FEELing the” Handel. With a fresh feel, and a completely reworked set list, “Pi” has carved out a new genre for themselves that they can’t seem to coin a name for! Ask them what they play, and all you get is:

“Its not a definition…. its an Experience!”
