Review : 'Between & Beyond' – EVERGREEN

Submitted by IRMP3 on June 17, 2009 – 1:20 PMNo Comment

Evergreen is one of the most underrated rock act in India , blame it for their marketing strategy or  any other reason, when I first heard Evergreen I was convinced from the start. This five piece rock act from Cochin, Kerala stands tall ( if not equal) among the best classic rock bands of India at present. Evergreen comprises of Jagan George on Vocals, Arun M.S on bass, Suraj Pallan on drums, Sunil Sylvester on Guitars, and Saji Antony on Keyboards. Evergreen released their debut album ‘Between and beyond’ in 2008 which relatively went unnoticed. If I were to give my two cents, I’d rate this album very high ,  Jagan’s vocals are flawless and beautiful.  Some of the tracks on this album are  exceptionally brilliant, ‘the calling’ and ‘From here to clarity’ is pure joy to listener’s ears. ‘Epilogue’ another classic ballad, Saji Antony captures you with his outstanding keyboard strokes. The songs ‘Sublime’ ‘Alter of Dreams’ and ‘vengeance’ has some powerful guitar licks by Sunil Sylvester. In all ‘Between & Beyond‘ is a awesome find, a gem in your collection. With superb production quality and even better album cover, I would rate ‘Between & Beyond’ by Evergreen at 4.5 / 5.Between & Beyond , EvergreenTracklisting :
1.Vengeance.
2.From  Here to Clarity.
3. Altar of dreams.
