itihas shettyReview By ITIHAS SHETTY.

To begin with this Album has trounced every other Indian album in terms of recording.

Actually, coming from Demonstealer records this isn’t surprising considering the vast experience. And of course the man himself (Sahil ‘Demonstealer’ Makhija) is the frontman. Not many times does it happen that the front man of an extreme metal band like Demonic Resurrection does vocals for something that sounds like Workshop. :P

The album ‘Khooni Murga‘ (Murderous Cock) is packed with 10 tracks which define the gamut to which talented musicians can go when they come together. That is Workshop for you! Providing brutality and humor at the same time. Musically the album is rich with guitar solos by Rajarshi Bhattacharyya, insane drumming by Hamza Kazi, ‘jumping’ bass lines by Riju Dasgupta and ‘cute’ vocals by Sahil Demonstealer Makhija. He is such an adroit person that you connect to whatever he makes, whether its music or Demonic Omelet.

workshop1The album begins with ‘She Folked Up My Jazz’ and its a perfect song right from the word go, complete with every musical element that you want to hear. Song-wise it’s a hit, as the melody that it carries is addictive.

Next song on this naughty album is ‘Pudhe Sarka’.. its about a guy who could be one of us travelling in a BEST bus n how he ends up hearing ‘pudhe sarka’ n ‘maage sarka’ frm the dictator on the bus – the conductor.

So lets ‘Pudhe Sarka’ with the review now…

‘I Came’ is a track which u r bound to hear more than once, it explains the subtle art of masturbation and how nimble you are when you are indulging in the same. :P

Next up is a song abt a horny Patel lusting for a chick during Garba Festival and hence the name Garba Gandu. This song has everything in place and you expect some dandiya beats and Hamza Kazi delivers some inexhaustible drumming.

‘How to make a Demonic Omelet’ is probably the weakest track of the album for me, followed by ‘Chhati Ke Saath Panga’ which is a somniferous track.

And if you thought this couldn’t get better, shit hits the fan with ‘Kothoi Doro Cho’. Next up is ‘Bunty aur Malika Sherwath’, the track which got 15000 hits on youtube before it was taken off. I went about understanding exactly why people liked the track so much, and I guess its not only coz its controversial (read bunty, babli, malika n saif) but also coz its the first Indian track that talks about sandas and do bade babble. ;)  The high point of this track is the drumming with Hamza playing triplets.. It just instantly catches your attention. Overall you will like the track which is just fantastic.

‘Cookie monster’ which clearly belongs to Rajarshi Bhattacharyya’s melodious solos complementing Sahil Makhija’s remarkable vocals, With a chipmunk ending.‘Cookie monster’ is definitely a hit song. The CD ends with the title track ‘Khooni murga’.

And with this, the hilarious album comes to an end leaving you craving for more to ‘come’.
The album is accompanied by a 2-hour long DVD which needs to be spoken about separately because it is brutally hilarious as well.

Next obvious thing  to mention is the detailed album artwork that explains the concept n the band through sketches. Every song has its own customized work and its not loud.. Its just there and fits perfectly. Great art work by talented artist  Saroj Naidu. The CD is also accompanied with a band poster and sticker which is something new. All in all this album is worth a buy because its nefarious, bawdy and brutally hilarious. Production wise the album is of international standards.

Get this album, because this one’s a keeper.
