COLOURBLIND – COLOURBLIND
Colourblinds self tiltled debute ( and only ) album is a milestone of Indian Rock . This album was released in 97 , but unfortunatley despite of massive success and non stop MTV coverage of their hit song Colourblind , the band broke up ( Siddarth Achrekar seems to have developed an acute ear problem ) . You can download this album for free from Sid Achrekars website .(Update The links are not working anymore, please check the rockmp3 page)

I really loved the track Colourblind. Have to still listen to the rest. Reminds me of what good ‘ol rock sounds like.
This album is called ‘the perfect album’ .. because all the songs are good, Ram Sampaths composing and lyrics are really a benchmark for Indian Bands.
By far the best studio rock album to be released from Indian shore. Let ‘em not fade off. Bring these guys to the fore once again .. release their CDs asap !!
i second that Bobby.

Always wished I could see more of you guys!
Colourblind was a landmark. I remember waking up to the music video one morning and calling up Rajeev (drummer of Thermal And A Quarter) and telling him: “Dude, you have to watch this… You’ll love the sound!”
In a professional capacity I met Ram Sampath in 2002 (after he had scored the music for Ram Madhvani’s ‘Let’s Talk’. He said to me, as an aside after the interview, that Colourblind the band had not been viable. Sid, of course, we remember from Zero.
Also, it was disappointing not to see Colourblind, definitely an epochal music video and a breakaway sound (keyboard intro, who would think!) covered in an article written recently by Indiecision’s Arjun S Ravi on MTV Iggy.
I’ve written about it here: http://bijoyvenugopal.wordpress.com/2009/11/21/why-mtv-can-never-befriend-indian-indie-rock/
